CONCEAL CARRY: THE NEXT STEP

A clear understanding of your abilities, and perhaps more importantly, knowing your limitations with your firearm is absolutely vital for surviving and prevailing against a threat. Today’s legal and justice system is complex. The life and death decisions that you make before, during and after a critical incident can mean the difference between going home to your family, examined by the coroner, or being sent to prison—even when you believe that you’ve done everything right. Remember this one important thing, there is no law that can bring you back to life.

The emphasis of this class is to teach the mindset, knowledge and skills to avoid, evade, and use your firearm in self defense. There is a huge difference between being able to shoot a gun and knowing when and how you should use your gun in a fight for your life. This class will help you to enhance your situational awareness in every area of your daily routine. You will learn the mindset and defensive skills that are essential for dealing with a life and death situation. Knowing how to avoid a confrontation in the first place, and de-escalating or evading a situation before having to use your firearm, are crucial elements for defending yourself against a threat and during the aftermath within the legal and justice systems.

Please note that this is an intermediate class that it is moderately physical, so be prepared to work.

Prerequisites:

• Demonstrate basic safe gun handling skills e.g., muzzle awareness, trigger finger discipline, and to safely draw, handle, and reholster a firearm.
• The ability to holster a firearm using your dominant hand only.
• Convey a teachable attitude and demonstrate that you can hear, accept and follow given instructions.

• Concealment, Movement, and Cover
• Sight Aqusition Techniques
• Target Discrimination
• Baracades and Shooting Positions

Gear Requirements:

• Defensive Pistol or Revolver
• 300-400 Rounds Ammunition
• Three Magazines and Carrier
• A sturdy Gun Belt
• Strong Side Holster Only (IWB, OWB, Appendix)
• No shoulder, cross draw, Serpa, Middle-of-back, or Belly-bans
• Eye and Hearing Protection
• Weather Appropriate Concealment Clothing
• We shoot rain or shine!
• Billed Hat or Ball Cap
• Lunch, Snacks, and Hydration
